2025 Online Discussion on AI in IT - image generated by ChatGPT
Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools are considered among the most disruptive industry trends. They are expected to significantly affect workflow, the job market, and other aspects of work for most IT and digital media professionals. To allow the exchange of ideas and experiences on this subject, the CSIT Alumni Society is organizing an online discussion for all of our community members and guests from industry/academia to discuss the current trends in the use of AI in different areas of information technology, particularly those relevant to CSIT students and alumni.
The event was originally planned as a symposium, but we decided to change it to an ongoing discussion on our Discord Server to be more convenient and welcoming, as opposed to preparing more formal submissions for a symposium.
To join the conversation, please visit our Discord Server and go to the channel called ai-discussions, where you can make a new post on a topic or engage with existing posts.
Create a new post to start a conversation on a new topic, such as sharing a resource or stating your ideas on an aspect of AI in IT. Give your post a title that shows what you are discussing.
Reply to any existing post to continue the discussion on its topic.
AI is a highly disruptive technology and is expected to change the way we all work and study. Our goal in setting up this discussion is to give our community a forum to discuss these changes and be better prepared for them. We hope to hear your thoughts on how AI is affecting your workflow and required skills, how academia and industry should adapt to these changes, what resources and tools are available, and any other related topic you find of interest to the community.
Engagement with this forum can be at any level. Posts and replies can be from short text or links to online material to full articles, presentations, and videos.
We want this discussion to be an inclusive forum, so ask you to invite others in your network, including but not limited to industry, government, academia, and affected communities, to participate.
